My parents, grand parents, great-great-great grandparents all come from Punjab in India. At least, the genetic tree says that for the last 300 years all had lived off of the same piece of land. This trip was a special one as I interacted with all the random people on my trip from Delhi to Punjab in 2018 winter. Traveling in trains, local buses and connecting for a fleeting moment with the day to day heroes making it more than obvious that belonging doesn't come from owning things but with transient moments of connecting with fellow humans beings.
